This Emmy award-winning half-hour magazine series spotlights key personnel, projects, and special programs of the various bureaus and divisions within the Department of Public Works.
With over 5,500 employees, the Department of Public Works is the City of Los Angeles' third largest department, and is responsible for the construction, renovation, and operation of the City's facilities and infrastructure, including curbside collection; graffiti removal; maintenance of sidewalks, sewers, and streetlights; and management of wastewater treatment plants and building design.
City Works showcases the hard work the men and women of the department do everyday in order to improve the quality of life in Los Angeles. The series debuted on LA Cityview 35 in July 1999.
